Lake Bled

A rainy morning as we go to pick up the car and say goodbye to Ljubljana.
Destination - Lake Bled, the reason Slovenia was on my radar.
Less than an hour gets us here. Only a couple more grey hairs from the drive. Jack says every man appreciates advice while driving a new car in a foreign country. We are unable to check in to our room until later in the afternoon, but are informed that we have a lake view room, thanks Paul for making the reservation. There is a walking path around the lake, so off we go. It is a little cloudy, but the rain has finished. Lots of men fishing, for carp. By the time we are half way around the lake the sun is trying to break through, so we grab a table by the lake and have a cold one. You can rent boats to paddle yourself or get on a slightly bigger boat and have someone else row to the little island. We don't feel the need to do either. I am taking lots of pictures from every angle in hopes at least a couple turn out great. Jack is having less success with his 'point and shoot' tablet. As we continue our walk, blue sky. Check into our room, nice deck and view. Castle right in front.

Do a little research for dinner. A local place just up the road. We opt for the mixed meat platter. Too much food. Good red wine. After a bit more red wine, dessert tonight.

After dinner we stroll through town, where we come across a casino. In we go. We are asked for identification as we enter. Jack whips out his passport and informs the young man that he is an 'international player'. There's 4 other players in the casino. Jack sits down at a blackjack table, 5 minutes later we are having a beer down the street.

Beautiful spot - and that castle...is it private or can you get in for a tour? Dessert looks yummy!
