Predjama Castle

So we have decided to move on from Slovenia in hopes of finding better weather. Of course it's a nice morning in Lake Bled.

We are heading to Saló on Lake Garda, Italy. But first we are going to check out Predjama Castle. Very cool, situated half way up a 127 metre cliff. €12 gets you in and an audio recording for the tour. I thought it was very well done. The castle is one of the last, and best preserved, cave castles in the Alpine foothills.

Killed in the least fortified part of the castle - the toilet.

Some cannon balls found at the castle.

Thought this was a nice plaque, 1944

4 hours lands us in Saló, by chance we drive right to our Airbnb stay. We are early so off to find somewhere for a cold drink. Not easy, many things closed and the other problem is parking. At 6pm we check in, accommodation is fine. A leisurely 15 minutes walk we are on the water front. Locate our destination for dinner. Jack has held out having pizza till we were in Italy, so pizza it is. Tasty, with some nice red wine. Too full for gelato, tomorrow.

Too bad the weather changed just as you were leaving, but you'll find new adventures in Italy. Enjoy!!
