Today we transfered to Sarajevo. Odd to be in the city after being in the mountains for the past few days. Busy dynamic city, with such tragic history. Have learnt so much about the history, and a bit of what is was like to live through the seige; I cannot imagine. The damage can still be seen on many of the buildings.
We and a great tour of the city where many historical sites and buildings were pointed out to us. Unfortunately so busy listening and looking, I did not take many pictures (you'll have to come and see for yourself).

Andy and I shared asome fresh potato chips on the way back to the hotel.
Dinner this evening was a the brewery: good food, good drinks and good friends.
The brewery was one of the main sources of water during the seige.

ReplyDeleteEnjoy the city (yes, tragic...I remember a children's book I read to my grade 5s about life in Sarajevo during that time...haunting) - and the rest of your time with your new friends!!
