Vasa Museum and Family

No rain! Enjoyed the walk to the Vasa museum this morning. The Vasa was a ship that sank on her maiden voyage on 10 August 1628 in Stockholm harbour, after sailing for only 20 minutes. The wreck was salvaged in 1961 after 333 years under the sea. The ship had been preserved in the brackish water of the Baltic Sea.

The day was so beautiful, for the rest of the afternoon I just wandered the streets.

For the evening a real special treat, I met some of my Swedish relatives (my father's side).

And for those of wanting selfies, I really don't take selfies (at least not good ones), so here's what happens when you enlist the help of other tourists!

  1. Wow - that ship looks amazing! Very cool. Glad you had a sunny day and got to do a little 'on foot' sight-seeing. Awesome that you had dinner with your relatives - looks like a very nice bunch of people (and thanks for including the family tree :)

Nice tourist assisted selfie - too bad about the finger, but at least we get to see you !!

  2. That photo is way better than a selfie any day- between the finger and the shadow it has a horror movie quality to it.

Nice family dinner, you're a citizen of the world!
