Castle District to Old Town

Up for a quick run this morning. Cobbled streets and sidewalks, so kept it short. A few others out running, a little early for tourists, just people going to work.

Lennon wall is just around the corner from my hotel.

Explored the castle district this morning. The buildings are amazing.

Prague Castle

Fortress of Vysehrad

Every place must have outdoor seating.
Haven't seen to many origanl items. Including in this shop.

Outdoor seating area of the restaurant where I had lunch. Pumpkin soup, small portion but tasty.
Went back to the hotel for a short break and then headed to old town. Crazy busy! Too many people, too many tourist shops. Trdelnik (chimney cakes) are everywhere! Here they fill them with nutella, ice cream, jam, and whipped cream. Everyone is eating them. Not inclined to have one.

Powder Tower

Happened upon U Supa, old town brewery.

Kasteel Rouge, sour cherry. Really nice.
Pork knuckle, incredibly tender

Rain in went I left. I have no sense of direction, and turn the wrong way. It wasn't long before I knew it. Walked on a bit further trying to see if I could find some landmark. Came up the Wenceslas Monument and the metro station. Hoped on and made it back to the hotel.

  1. Awesome street scapes - and the narrow roads. I also love the wooly throws on those chairs :) Do they sit outside all year round?
