Run Day in Vienna

Up early for a small breakfast, run doesn't start till 10am, so lots of time. Hop the metro and arrive about 9:15. Not sure how many are running this morning, lots mingling, stretching and warming up. A drum group is playing, and then they lead us into stadium where the start is. They then went out on the course and were still druming when I finished. It is a lapped course, distance are 7, 21 and 42. The announcer is talking away, I have no idea what he is saying, hopefully nothing important. 10am and were off. Great run on tree lined roads through the park. Happy enough with today's result; first half was better than the second, but still managed to get it done in 2:30ish.

Dinner at the hotel. Grilled prawns with tomato ragout and pumpkin risotto. Yummy!
And a blueberry marscapon cake with chocolate and cherry ice cream. Also very yummy!

Off to a concert this evening. Vienna Supreme Concerts at Eschenbach Palace. A selection of Mozart, Strauss and Brahms. Enjoyable for sure. Then room held about 160. So me and 159 boat people!

Tomorrow I say goodbye to vienna , and on to Prague.
Thoughts on Vienna, lovely city. Lots of great buildings, photography shot around every corner. Can't imagine how busy it must be in the summer. Many of the dogs in the city are muzzled. Not sure if it's law, but there are signs on the metro indicating that they are to be muzzled. Doesn't look like most of them mind.

  1. Yay - congrats on another half, Brenda!! Love the idea of a drumming band playing, not so much the loop course (I'm afraid I'd stop after the first loop ;)

Great that you got to a concert! And that you enjoyed your trip to Vienna (thanks for taking us along). I'm looking forward to Prague!
